Acceptable Use Policy
What you may and may not sell, and your duty to follow the law in every market you sell into.
Version 2026-08-01 · effective 2026-08-01
1. Comply with the law where you operate and where your customers are
You must comply with the laws of every country in which you do business AND the
laws of every country your customers are in. That includes, without limitation:
consumer protection and distance-selling rules, product safety and labelling,
age restrictions, import and export controls, sanctions, tax and invoicing
obligations, and privacy and marketing law.
Where a jurisdiction requires a licence, registration or age check to sell a
particular product, you must hold it before you list that product. We may ask
you to evidence it, and may remove a listing until you do.
2. Products you may not sell
You may not list, sell or advertise through the platform:
- Anything unlawful in a country you sell into.
- Counterfeit goods, or anything infringing another party's trade mark,
copyright, design or patent.
- Stolen goods, or goods you do not have the right to sell.
- Controlled drugs, precursors, and prescription-only medicines or devices
sold without the required authorisation.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives and their components, where prohibited or
where you do not hold the required licence.
- Regulated goods sold without the required age verification, including
alcohol, tobacco, nicotine and vaping products.
- Protected wildlife, and products made from protected species.
- Human remains or bodily fluids.
- Sexually explicit material involving minors, or any material produced
without the documented consent of everyone depicted.
- Material that promotes terrorism, violent extremism, or hatred against a
group of people.
- Financial instruments, deposit-taking or lending offered without the
required authorisation.
- Recalled products, and products subject to an active safety notice.
Legality varies by market. A product you may lawfully sell at home may be
prohibited where your customer is, and it is your responsibility to know the
difference.
3. Accurate listings
Descriptions, images, origin, materials, condition and price must be accurate.
Do not use another business's photographs or copy without permission. Do not
misrepresent a used item as new, or imply an endorsement you do not have.
4. Your customers
Honour the returns, refund and cancellation rights your customers have by law.
Publish contact details a customer can actually reach you through. Do not send
marketing to people who have not agreed to receive it, and honour every
unsubscribe.
5. Platform integrity
Do not use the platform to phish, to impersonate another business, to test
stolen payment credentials, to launder money, or to attack or overload our
systems or anyone else's.
6. Screening and review
We screen listings automatically and may hold a listing for human review before
it becomes visible. Where a listing is held or removed we will tell you why, and
you may correct and resubmit it. Repeated or serious breaches may result in
suspension.
7. Reporting
Anyone can report a listing to us. We investigate reports and act on the ones
that are well founded.
